Molex's HDMI Micro connector is a 19-pin, 0.40 mm (.016") pitch interconnect, in a 6.50 mm (.256") by 2.90 mm (.114") stainless steel shell. The connector offers all the advantages of the HDMI 1.4 specification and is half the size of the current Mini connector. The miniature footprint and low-profile height offer significant space savings. Molex’s HDMI Micro connectors are the industries only I/O solution available to enable surp*ed high-definition (HD) consumer demand. The HDMI Micro connector delivers equivalent mechanical strength and electrical characteristics of its larger Mini connector predecessor. Micro HDMI cable *emblies feature a stylish and compact overmold design at half the size of the HDMI overmold and are available in a variety of customizable cable lengths. Molex also offers Category 2-speed HDMI Ethernet Channel and Audio Return Channel cable *emblies that support both 100Mbps bi-directional Ethernet and high-audio throughput communication between (HDMI-enabled) networked home-theater and consumer electronics devices without the need for a separate Ethernet or S/PDIF cable for audio 'upstream' processing and playback.

The HDMI consortium chose Molex to lead the HDMI Micro connector development and to propose the connector design and specification. This move brought an innovative development to the industry that positioned Molex as the first connector manufacturer to offer a complete solution for the HDMI Micro technology.
