The Grove AS5600 encoder provides significant   

advantages over traditional potentiometer/encoder

 including high precision, non-contact nature, and no 

rotation angle limitation. This magnetic rotary 

position encoder is based on Hall effect and the 

built-in Hall sensor detects changes in the direction 

of the magnetic field. The magnetic field direction information 

is amplified and with the help of the built-in 12-bit ADC, the AS5600 

module can output 4096 positions per round.
