Blackfin® Landscape LCD EZ-Extender board

The Blackfin Landscape LCD EZ-Extender daughter board extends the capabilities of the EZ-Kit Lite by allowing users to connect to a landscape LCD on the Blackfin BF52x, BF53x and BF54x processors. The EZ-Extender connects to the ADSP-BF526 EZ-Board/EZ-Kit Lite, ADSP-BF537 EZ-Kit Lite, ADSP-BF538 EZ-Kit Lite, or the ADSP-BF548 EZ-Kit Lite. The board supports a SHARP 3.5in landscape QVGA display. This LCD display can operate at V_DDIO from +1.6V to +3.6V. This allows the LCD to be a good fit for both normal use as well as low power applications. The EZ-Extender also has an AD7147-1 programmable controller for capacitance touch sensors. The capacitance controller interfaces to the Blackfin processor via a simple TWI (Two Wire Interface). The other end of the controller will interface to external capacitance sensors implementing functions such as capacitive buttons and scroll wheel.

The Landscape LCD EZ-Extender has limited compatibility with the ADSP-BF537 EZ-Kit Lite: The LCD and the AD7879 can be used together or the LCD and the AD7147-1 can be used together. The AD7879, AD7147-1 and the LCD cannot all be used simultaneously. This is due to limited GPIO availability on the BF537 Stamp PPI Interface.
All other supported products (BF526, BF538, and BF548 EZ-Kits) allow all three to be used simultaneously.
